Teeth-in-a-Day
Rockwall & Paris, Texas

Teeth-in-a-Day is an innovative, time-saving approach to dental implants that provides a fully functioning set of dental implants to patients, but unlike traditional implants, which require several different appointments spread out over many months, the Teeth-in-a-Day procedure safely and precisely provides patients with implants that look and feel natural in just one procedure.

At Northeast Texas Periodontal Specialists, we offer a range of implant-based solutions for missing teeth, including Teeth-in-a-Day. If you are missing teeth and would like to learn more about whether Teeth-in-a-Day or another implant-based solution is right for you, please refer to the following. To schedule an appointment for a consultation to see if Teeth-in-a-Day is right for you, contact our Rockwall office today at (972) 771-8640 or our Paris office at (903) 785-4832.

Teeth-in-a-Day
Evaluation & Procedure

Although Teeth-in-a-Day can restore you back to a full smile in one appointment, the entire process will require multiple visits. The first step in this process is scheduling an initial examination, during which we will perform a thorough examination to determine if you are a viable candidate for Teeth-in-a-Day. If you do not meet the necessary qualifications, alternative treatment options will be discussed.

Part of this evaluation will include taking 3D images using a dental CT (cone beam CT) scanner, which produces high-quality 3-D images that will allow for more precise treatment planning. These images allow us to determine the number of implants needed and the optimal placement of these implants. We will also use these images with a special software to create a surgical guide to ensure the implant is precisely inserted into the pre-planned position.

Provided you are viable candidate, impressions of your new teeth will be made, and a follow-up appointment will be scheduled. Before we begin the Teeth-in-a-Day procedure, we will administer a local anesthetic to ensure you do not feel any discomfort. We also offer several different dental sedation options, including oral and IV sedation to ensure you are calm and comfortable throughout the procedure. Once you are numbed and comfortable, the procedure will begin. If necessary, we will extract any teeth that require removal. Next, we will prepare the implant sites in your bone using our Piezosurgery ultrasonic surgical instrument. Once complete and the implants are placed, we will position your temporary restoration, which will be worn while you undergo the healing process.

Following your Teeth-in-a-Day procedure, we will provide aftercare instructions, which should be closely followed. You will likely experience some soreness, but this can be managed with over-the-counter or prescription strength pain medications and should subside after a few days. If prescribed antibiotics, take as directed to reduce your risk of developing an infection. It will also be important to follow a soft food/liquid diet for several weeks following the procedure. As the healing progresses, you can slowly begin reintroducing hard foods as recommended by your dental team. A follow up appointment will likely be scheduled within two weeks of your procedure so we can evaluate your Teeth-in-a-Day to check your bite, the healing progession, and address any issues.

Once you have completed this healing process, you will return to our office to be cleared for your final restoration. After testing to ensure that your bite looks good, feels comfortable and aligns with the adjacent teeth, your Teeth-in-a-Day procedure will be complete!

Advanced 3D imaging makes treatment faster and less invasive

We use high-tech digital X-rays and a 3D cone beam CT scanner to get detailed images of your teeth, gums, and jaw structure. With these images, we precisely plan your implant placement ahead of the appointment for surgery. We can then place your implants quickly and with no or minimal incisions.

Revolutionary
Non-surgical gum treatment using the Perioscope

We treat most cases of moderate to severe gum disease completely non-surgically by using the Perioscope. The Perioscope is a revolutionary, tiny camera that enables us to see deeply buried plaque and calculus deposits, that before the Perioscope would have required exploratory surgery to see. Using the Perioscope, we thoroughly remove these deposits with our scaling instruments.
