Dental Implant Options for Missing Teeth
Durable, natural-looking teeth replacement options
Dental implants are the most durable and lifelike option for missing teeth. They look, feel and function just like natural teeth and can last a lifetime. Dental implants are titanium posts that function as replacement tooth roots. They can be used to support an individual crown, a dental bridge or a denture.
Someone who has lost all their teeth can replace them with implant-supported dental bridges, or implant-supported dentures.
Because of technological advances in dentistry in recent years, most people are now able to receive dental implant treatment. Below you can see our dental implant options.
Individual tooth implants
We can replace single missing teeth with a dental implant and a crown. The implant forms the root of the new tooth. A connecting piece known as an abutment fits on top of the implant and the crown is attached to the top of the abutment. Your new tooth can be cleaned and flossed like a normal tooth.
The implant-supported tooth functions, feels and looks like a natural tooth. Many patients have told us they can’t tell the difference between the implant and their natural teeth.
Where several teeth in a row are missing, we can place implants to support a dental bridge. We can even replace an entire dental arch with a series of implant-supported bridges.
They are the most durable option for replacing an entire arch of missing teeth, achieving nearly the same chewing and biting power as natural teeth. Our doctors also make sure they look completely natural.
TeethXpress® Secure, natural-looking teeth in one day
We use an advanced implant system to provide fixed-in new teeth for patients with missing teeth or who have teeth that need to be extracted.
This is an economical alternative to a series of implant-supported bridges to replace an entire dental arch. If you are missing all your teeth, or need all your teeth replaced, we can place 4 to 6 specially-designed implants per arch to support high-quality new teeth using the TeethXpress system.
The teeth are secured to the dental implants and can only be removed by the dentist, if needed.
You will have about 80% of the strength and chewing power of natural teeth with this system. These teeth also look very natural, and do not have the false palate at the top that hampers your sense of taste.
The most economical way to replace your missing teeth is to use implants to support dentures where the dentures can still be removed. The implants have an attachment that snaps into specially-designed clasps placed in the underside of your denture. The implants and the clasps snap together and provide a strong foundation for the denture which prevents it from slipping.
Implant-retained dentures achieve anywhere from 35% to 60% of full chewing and biting capability, depending on the number of implants placed for support. No adhesives are needed, and slippage is minimized. You can chew foods easily that were very difficult or impossible to eat before. You are also spared the pain and discomfort caused by the unsupported denture rubbing against your dental arch.
We can place these implants for a brand new set of dentures. We can also place implants for your current dentures and have your dentures retrofitted so the implants and your dentures will snap together and provide the added support.
