Manual or Electric Toothbrushes: Which is Better?
In the last few years, we have seen an increase in the appeal of powered toothbrushes. With all the hype surrounding them, are they really better than traditional ones?
Dental professionals agree that a regular toothbrush can clean teeth just as well as a powered toothbrush. When it comes to choosing one or the other, it’s a matter of how much work we want to put into brushing. Thoroughness is crucial when using a regular toothbrush. It is recommended that, in order to keep a healthy smile, we brush our teeth for two minutes, two times each day. With everything else we need to do, keeping up with daily dental hygiene may seem like a lot.
Hence the buzz surrounding electric toothbrushes.
They have caught on for their ability to do everything for their owners. Thanks to the different brush heads, styles, and modes (such as sensitivity, deep cleaning, and whitening), they make a thorough teeth-cleaning much simpler. In fact, some electric toothbrushes have the ability to keep track of how long the user is brushing one area and alerts them to continue on to the next quadrant by way of vibration. Furthermore, electronic brushes are good for people with disabilities or dexterity issues.
At the end of the day, choosing between a powered or a traditional toothbrush is up to the individual. There isn’t any concrete proof that one style is better than the other. Rather, it all boils down to our way of life. Traditional toothbrushes are affordable, travel-friendly, and don’t need to be charged. They will, however, require a little more effort.
